We devised the restaurant naming for our friend and owner Jad, Misc as in “miscellaneous”, of items or people gathered or considered together of various types or from different sources. It was a fitting choice to describe his brief on the interior fit out and the food and beverages to be served .

Located close to the Parramatta river in the park,  the building was a trust roof annex, under the shade of some Jacaranda trees and with great natural light. The project took approximately 18 months to complete. A chic and modern eatery at one end and open space for larger gatherings at the other – a bust central kitchen buzzing with activity. A light and modern palette was selected , with a slight Mediterranean edge. The owner wanted a modern and clean lined approach, neutral palette of oak, concrete and terrazzo, stucco walls and black stell framing details . Custom joinery and lighting  balance with carefully selected tiles in hues of pistachio and verdant green. Upholsteries in toffee leather and linen sit well with simple bentwood chairs, the tableware and elegant bespoke staff uniforms. accessories were sourced and custom made for the ever changing market find in flowers and fruits- an emphasis of fresh and of the moments items put together ‘like a little bit of this and that’, the venue catch phrase.

The overall effect is one of bustling city bistro, located within a park, with a wonderful undercover terrace and alfresco dining scene.
